Dr. Juliana Ballard is a native of New Jersey but has lived in beautiful Virginia for the past 33 years. She received her Animal Science degree in 1987 and completed her undergraduate work at George Mason University. Dr. Ballard worked as a licensed veterinary technician for 9 years prior to entering veterinary school. She graduated Summa cum Laude from the VMRCVM in 1996 and has since worked at Cave Spring Veterinary Clinic.
Dr. Ballard strives to provide the utmost in care and compassion for both her patients and their owners. She has particular interests in veterinary behavior and dentistry and has recently started our puppy classes.
As a companion animal practitioner, she is also a member of the following organizations:
- American Animal Hospital Association
- Virginia Veterinary Medical Association
- American Veterinary Medical Association
- Roanoke Valley Veterinary Medical Association
Dr. Ballard has previously served as continuing education chair, board member and Secretary/Treasurer of the Roanoke Valley Veterinary Medical Association. She also served on the board of the Veterinary Memorial Fund at the Va-Md College of Veterinary Medicine.
Dr. Ballard spends time with her husband, Terry, her two children, Zach and Rachel, her 2 cats, Ripley and Twitch and dog, Clyde. With both children now in college Juliana is enjoying spending time again with Terry, running, gardening, reading and hopes that horse ownership is in her near future.
